Financial Advice for New Comers to Canada.

For most of us, the countries that we came from mostly used cash or debit cards for transactions. In Canada,we have different ways of purchasing any thing that we want. Although we can use both debit cards and cash here in Canada, I would recommend having credit card, because it makes life easy for any one who lives here in Canada.

I would suggest having a credit card helps to build credit history and get different benefits, for example cash advance, travel insurance and others.

My last but not least advice would be the first thing, that you have to learn is how to manage your credit card responsibly, and and actually if I were you, I would go to different financial firms in person and get more information about it.

If you want to know more about it, I would  suggest visiting www.settlement.org and find out about different benefit packages offered by banks TD,RBC,CIBC  and others.

''wealth is the ability to fully experience life.''Henry David Thoreou. I think this quote can be defined as in good or bad situations, however, how we can take it or respond to the situation  matters a lot. Being wealthy is all rounded it includes different aspects of life, being healthy, money , living in abundance etc..., but at the end of the day what is important is  the degree of  being content with what ever we have and what ever we do. So being wealthy for me is mostly a mind set how we respond to our life circumstances, good or bad.

Budget idioms
Today I learned  at least  ten budget idioms, for example, strapped for cash, pinching pennies, in a hole, makes ends meet, paying through the nose, and take for a spin. For example, instead of saying strapped for cash I would say I am in debt  or for take a spin, I would say, lets try the car. I think it is important  to know about different expressions, because it helps to communicate easily.

I haven't experience all ten incidents fortunately, but I have been experienced excessive hidden fees.
Excessive or hidden fees are the worst payments in transaction . I have been paying for  multiple times in banks and when I purchase a lot of things, for example,  when we bought a car they told us about the price of the car and other things not about the HST, it was  approximately  more than $4000 bucks, I think, for me  the company  ripped us off.. The second one is about credit card payment, I had no idea about the yearly payment for the credit card itself, I was surprised when I learned that.

About me

Hi, my name is Fitsum, I have been in Canada since August 2016, How ever, I have left  my home country Ethiopia since 2001, but , I used to visit families and friends at least in a  year or six month. To leave home country and live among different people  and culture is not easy, it requires a lots of adjustments.

Even though we (my husband, my three lovely daughters and I)  have got  our Permanent Residence card (PR) as a family,  in 2014, with skilled immigrant visa, it took us almost two years to come and  settle in Canada .

Canada is a beautiful , peaceful country with a lot of opportunities and challenges. I thank God, and, I am very grateful to world vision Canada my Husband has got a job with in forty five days after he resigned his international job and arrived here.

I am still searching for different opportunities , I want to be a registered dietitian/nutritionist. I am  seeking  any information  to be on the right track to get there. Hopefully I will be there in five years

I did not think it could turned out like that, it was when I was in middle school, we were playing different games and I started a game which was pushing some one's chair when they try to sit, but the bad side of that game was if you push the chair more than the limit the person could fall and hurt, and actually I messed up that part of the game and I pushed hard the chair of my friend.

Well can you imagine a teenage who fell in front of all the crowd in her class ? I felt so sorry, because she hurt herself (actually I was the who hurts her), and, the worst   part is she was so  embarrassed. I knew that we can't continue the game after that  moment. I tried to make up by helping  dusting her dress and apologizing innumerable times, however, it was too  much for her to forgive me, the moment when  she stopped  hanging out with me, I knew that she held a grudge against me. Time flew ,two three,.... years, I tried to contact her several times, to restore our friendship, it didn't work.

Despite missing my friend, I  have learnt that some times, it is difficult to bring back a friendship which is broken for different reasons, Even though you regret or apologize multiple times , I think it is better to understand a friend prior to starting any thing that is sensitive towards that person.

Thank you Marcella for your patience,
I made it up.
April fool.
